Breaded cauliflower is a delicious appetizer recipe everyone will love. It is prepared with cauliflower florets passed in a paprika-flavored breading and then baked in the oven. It is a healthy and quick side dish that is made without cooking the florets first but by breading them raw.

Crispy and golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside, breaded cauliflower is also a great side dish together with a main course of meat or fish, or as a tasty appetizer with a dipping sauce such as mayonnaise, tzatziki or hummus.

So let’s find out how to make a tasty breaded cauliflower by following our simple step-by-step recipe.

Breaded cauliflower can be flavored with your favorite spices and aromatic herbs, always added to breadcrumbs.

In place of grated parmesan cheese, you can use grated pecorino cheese instead.

For a thicker and crispier breading, you can pass the already breaded florets again in the egg and breadcrumbs.

Instead of white cauliflower, it is possible to use Romanesco broccoli, broccoli, green or purple cauliflower, for a colorful and always different result.

How to store Breaded Cauliflower

The breaded cauliflower florets can be stored in the refrigerator, in a special airtight container, for one day. Freezing is not recommended.

How to make Breaded Cauliflower

Remove the outer leaves of the cauliflower and then the central core.

Divide the cauliflower into many florets, all roughly the same size.

Rinse the cauliflower florets under fresh running water, then dab them well with a cotton towel.

Mix the breadcrumbs in a small bowl with fine salt, black pepper, sweet paprika and grated parmesan cheese.

Beat the eggs in another small bowl with a pinch of fine salt.

Bread the cauliflower florets by passing them first in the eggs.

Then pass the cauliflower florets in the flavored breadcrumbs.

Arrange the cauliflower florets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Season the breaded cauliflower florets with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and bake at 200°C/390°F for about 30 minutes.

Once golden brown, take out the breaded cauliflower florets and serve them accompanied with your favorite dipping sauces.
